DAY 1

Arrival in Colombo – Transfer to Kandy

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (Colombo) and meet your chauffeur for a scenic drive towards the hill capital Kandy. En route, stop at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage to see elephants being cared for and bathing in the river (a popular highlight for first-time visitors). Continue to Kandy and spend the evening at leisure by Kandy Lake or enjoy a cultural dance show if time permits.
Overnight: Kandy

DAY 2

Kandy Sightseeing & Culture

Start the day exploring Kandy’s heritage charm. Visit the iconic Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Asia, followed by a walk around the peaceful Kandy Lake. Later, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, known for orchids and towering palms. Evening is perfect for a relaxed café stop or a local market visit.
Overnight: Kandy

DAY 3

Kandy to Nuwara Eliya – Tea Country

After breakfast, drive into the lush highlands of Sri Lanka’s famous tea region. Stop at a tea plantation and factory to learn how Ceylon Tea is made (and enjoy tastings). Reach Nuwara Eliya, often called “Little England,” with its cooler climate, colonial-style buildings and misty landscapes. Evening can be spent around Gregory Lake or exploring the charming town area.
Overnight: Nuwara Eliya

DAY 4

Scenic Train to Ella + Waterfalls

This is the most loved day for Western travelers. Take the iconic scenic train ride from Nanu Oya to Ella (one of the world’s most beautiful train journeys), passing tea estates, clouds, tunnels and waterfalls. On arrival, explore Ella’s relaxed vibe and visit Ravana Falls. Sunset at Little Adam’s Peak is a great gentle hike for amazing views.
Overnight: Ella

DAY 5

Ella to Yala – Safari Adventure

Depart from the hills towards the southern wilderness. Stop at Nine Arches Bridge early morning if you missed it the previous day. Continue to Yala National Park for an afternoon/evening jeep safari, famous for leopards, elephants, crocodiles, deer and exotic birds. End the day in a comfortable nature resort near the park.
Overnight: Yala / Tissamaharama

DAY 6

Beach Time + Return to Colombo (Departure)

After breakfast, drive towards the coast for a relaxed beach experience depending on your flight schedule. You may stop in Mirissa (for a laid-back tropical vibe) or Bentota (more resort-style beaches). Enjoy lunch by the sea and then proceed to Colombo Airport for departure, taking home a perfect mix of culture, hills, wildlife and beaches.
